Worker dead in Upper West Side elevator accident

UPPER WEST SIDE (WABC) -- A worker was killed in an elevator accident in Manhattan Friday morning.

The incident happened at 75 West End Avenue on the Upper West Side just after 11 a.m.

Authorities say two say two men were doing work inside the shaft when one of them somehow became pinned between two elevators.

The 30-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The circumstances of the accident are unknown at this time.

Identification is pending family notification, and the investigation continues.
