Pit bull puppies stolen during Yonkers home invasion robbery

YONKERS (WABC) -- Police are investigating a home invasion robbery in Yonkers that left one man injured.

The incident happened on Woodwoth Avenue around 11:15 p.m. Tuesday.

Authorities say three suspects approached the door and were let inside by a 23-year-old resident.

The suspects then struck the victim in the head with what appeared to be a handgun.

The three men then took his wallet, phone and two pit bull puppies before fleeing the scene on foot.

The victim suffered minor injuries and was treated at and released from a local hospital.

The suspects were described as three black males with black hoodies wearing ski masks.

Authorities do not think the attack was random and believe the suspect was targeted.
