Hempstead, LI man will be arraigned on charges of burglarizing churches

A Hempstead man will be arraigned on burglary charges, in connection with several church thefts.

Police say 29-year old Denis Alvarado stole money from donation and deposit boxes at St. Hyacinth's Church on Cedar Swamp Road in Glen Head twice last month, along with assorted clothing and home goods.

On one occasion he's accused of taking clothing and stealing a large screen television from St. Aidan's Church in Williston Park last March.

Alvarado is charged with six counts of burglary.
