Woman accused of stealing at Long Island children museum

EAST GARDEN CITY, N.Y. (WABC) -- A Hauppauge woman was arrested, accused is stealing money from jackets at a Long Island museum.

According to the Nassau County Police Department, Mary Elliott, 50, went into the self-service coat room at the Long Island Children's Museum and rummaged through others' coats, pocketbooks and bags, removing wallets.

Police arrested Elliott Tuesday.

She is charged with two counts of grand larceny in the fourth degree and is expected to be arraigned Wednesday.
