Man to walk from Tampa to Yankee Stadium for Wounded Warrior Project

TAMPA (WABC) -- Richard Albero, retired teacher and Navy veteran is honoring his nephew, Gary who died in the September 11th terrorist attacks. Richard is raising money for the Wounded Warrior Project.

Richard started walking from home plate at Steinbrenner Field in Tampa, towards home plate at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx. The goal is to raise awareness, and $25,000.

"I hope to average 20 miles a day, so I get to Yankee Stadium around Memorial Day, which will be really a nice tie-in - the Yankees will be home then, so that's my goal," says Richard.
