Police hunt hit and run driver after pedestrian killed in Coram, LI

CORAM (WABC) -- Police are searching for the hit and run driver who killed a pedestrian in Suffolk County.

The victim was walking on Route 112 in Coram at about 6 a.m. when he was struck by a vehicle Saturday morning.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim's identity has not yet been released.

Police believe the vehicle that hit him was light in color, possibly tan, and it would now have front-end damage.

The vehicle fled the scene northbound toward Route 25.
