PITTSBURGH, Pa. -- The Villanova Wildcats were knocked out of the NCAA March Madness tournament with a 71-68 loss to NC State on Saturday.

The Wildcats are the first No. 1 seed to be knocked out of the tournament.

This loss is a likely bracket-buster for many.

There were high hopes for Villanova to go far, with some including President Obama, even picking them to go all the way to the championship.

The last time Villanova made it that far was in 1985 when they walked away with the title.

More recently, in 2009, the Wildcats made it to the Final Four but they loss to the Tarheels.

With Saturday's win, NC State will go on to play either Louisville or Northern Iowa in the Sweet 16.
