MILLSTONE, N.J. -- Approximately 200 goats and sheep must be removed from a Monmouth County farm after the owner and his girlfriend admitted improperly caring for the animals.
Christopher Vaccaro and Tina Perna pleaded guilty to disorderly persons charges during a court hearing in Millstone on Monday.
Authorities last year said they found nearly 200 sick and malnourished goats, horses, chickens and peacocks on the farm.
Prosecutor Richard Kelly said he doesn't think the pair are nasty people, but he believes they are hoarders who got in over their heads.
The judge ordered the two to submit a plan by April 7, and remove the animals within 30 days or face 30 days in jail.
