Volunteers make a BIG impact in New York City so NYC Service will celebrate National Volunteer Month in a BIG way! Our mission is to promote volunteerism and our vision is to inspire all New Yorkers to volunteer. During April, NYC Service will:

  • Promote volunteerism through video and radio public service announcements as well as bus shelter advertisements
  • Launch a mobile application and partner with VolunteerMatch to make more NYC volunteer opportunities easily accessible through nyc.gov/service
  • Announce the first city-wide Mayoral Service Recognition Program
  • Publish "Volunteers Count,' an NYC Service report celebrating volunteerism and the number of New Yorkers who gave back to their communities in 2014

We appreciate volunteers who serve their communities in a BIG way!
