Construction worker killed in Franklin Township trench collapse

FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, N.J. (WABC) -- A construction worker died after being buried alive when a trench collapsed.

It happened at a construction site in Franklin Township late Monday afternoon.

The victim was working on the outside of a home on Neuville Drive when the walls of the 12-foot-deep trench collapsed in on him.

The man was trapped for more than an hour before firefighters could reach him.

He died at the scene.
