HUNTINGTON -- A Long Island store clerk has been arrested for asking children to expose themselves for money.

Suffolk County police say Friday's incident at a convenience store in Huntington involved two boys and two girls aged 11 to 14.

Police say the children walked into the store at about 7:20 p.m. They say 35-year-old employee Bipinkumar Patel asked the children if they were wearing underwear. They say Patel then offered the children money if they would show him their underwear and private parts.

Patel was arrested on charges of endangering the welfare of a child. He was released and is scheduled to appear at First District Court in Central Islip on July 7.

No information on an attorney for Patel who could comment on the charges was available.
