Queens man struck, killed getting out of car

QUEENS, N.Y. (WABC) -- An 83-year-old man was struck and killed while getting out of his car.

Around 11 p.m. on Monday, police responded to 103rd Avenue where a pedestrian had been hit. A man was lying in the road with severe trauma on his body.

Nfn Loknauth, 83, of Queens, taken to Jamaica Hospital where he was pronounced dead. He had been getting out of his vehicle and began to cross the street, walking south, midblock.

A grey 2001 Nissan Xtera driven by a 51-year-old man, was traveling east on 103rd and hit him.

The operator of the vehicle remained at the scene. No one has been arrested and the investigation is ongoing.
