Man impersonating Newark officer allegedly sexually assaulted woman

NEWARK, N.J. (WABC) -- Authorities say a man impersonating a Newark police officer sexually assaulted a woman.

Police say 47-year-old Luis Pena approached the woman on the street, told her he was an undercover cop, and showed her a police badge.

He then allegedly forced her to engage in sexual acts and threatened to send her to jail if she didn't comply.

The Essex County Prosecutor's Office is worried there could be other victims.

It's asking them to call the Special Victims Unit at 973-753-1130.
