Woman in critical condition after being hit by taxi in Midtown

MIDTOWN -- A 20-year-old woman is in critical condition after being hit by a taxi in Midtown.

Police say the woman was in the crosswalk at 8th Avenue and 57th Street when she was hit at about 5:30 Saturday evening.

The cab also crashed into a bank of payphones.

The driver was given a breathalyzer test at the scene. He has not been charged.
