Bronx shooting near school leaves 20-year-old man dead

NEW YORK (WABC) -- Police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened near a school in the Bronx Wednesday morning.

The incident occurred around 9:45 a.m. at East 193rd Street and Creston Avenue Bronx, in the vicinity of PS 246.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a 20-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the chest.

EMS arrived and transported the victim to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

His father identified him as 20-year-old Angel Caesar, of the Bronx. He was shot on his right arm and under his right arm pit.

Caesar has two prior arrests, including one for felony assault stabbing in the Bronx in May 2012. He allegedly stabbed his victim numerous times on the forearms, causing heavy bleeding. The other arrest is sealed.

The investigation is ongoing.
