Three-alarm fire burns through home in Newark

NEWARK, N.J. (WABC) -- Firefighters battled a three-alarm fire in Newark.

The fire broke out around Friday night inside a home on Ridge Street at 2nd Avenue.

The fire spread to at least one other building.

There are no injuries reported at this time.

There is a partial roof collapse in building where the fire started.

Firefighters were still working to put out hot spots after 11 p.m. Friday.

According to the Red Cross North Jersey Region, the organization is helping seven families, a total of 16 people, with lodging and clothing. Several home were affected.
