MASTIC, N.Y. (WABC) -- A 17-year-old man was stabbed to death in Mastic on Friday evening.
According to Suffolk County Police, around 5 p.m., Trevor Bender was in a car stuck in traffic on Mastic Road when he and the driver started to argue with a group standing at the corner of Mastic Road and Moriches Avenue.
Bender and the driver, 18, got out of the car and went up to the group. A man stabbed Bender in the chest, and the suspect fled on foot.
Bender, 17, of Mastic, was taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue where he was pronounced dead.
