Flushing woman fights off attacker who tries to take her purse

QUEENS, N.Y. (WABC) -- Police are looking for a man who attempted to rob a woman in Queens who refused to give up her purse.

Just before 5 a.m. on Wednesday, the suspect followed the victim into her building in the Flushing section of Queens.

Once the woman reached the second floor, the suspect grabbed her bag and tried to steal it. The suspect pushed her into the wall, but the victim continued to fight with the suspect until he fled. She refused medical attention at the scene.

The suspect is a Hispanic male in his early 20s, 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing 160 pounds.
