NORTH ARLINGTON, N.J. (WABC) -- Crews rescued a worker who became trapped in thick mud in New Jersey Monday morning.
At about 8:30 a.m., a contractor performing survey work for PSE&G in the Hackensack Meadowlands in North Arlington got stuck about waist deep and was unable to free himself without assistance, a spokesman for the utility said.
North Arlington police and fire personnel were immediately notified and extricated the contractor a little over an hour later.
He appeared to be uninjured but was taken to a local hospital to be evaluated.
Police say the worker was part of a group of subcontractors working for PSE&G who were setting up poles.
