HEMPSTEAD (WABC) -- Entertainer Flavor Flav's arrest last month in Las Vegas on allegations he was speeding and driving under the influence has delayed an expected settlement in a New York case on similar charges.

Flav, 56, whose real name is William Drayton, has pleaded not guilty to a felony charge of driving with a suspended license, along with a speeding violation and two misdemeanors stemming from his January 2014 arrest on Long Island while driving to his mother's funeral.

The rapper and reality TV star did not take a plea Tuesday, citing a legal question over whether the admission would affect his ability to go on tour.

The rapper has to determine if taking the plea, to driving with a suspended license, will still allow him to travel "all over the world."

His attorney said they will have to check with the laws in Nevada, where Flav lives.

The judge in Mineola set a July 28 hearing for all sides to try again.

Flav, whose real name is William Jonathan Drayton Jr., said he was disappointed but took it all in stride.

"I'm just a little disappointed because I thought this was going to go away today. I thought I was gonna but it's OK, he said. "I just got to come back. The only thing I can say is I will see you guys when I return back on July 28."

He is charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle the first, second and third degree and speeding.
