NEW YORK (WABC) -- A Bronx man was killed in a multi-vehicle accident early Sunday morning.

Police responded to the crash at about 4:30 a.m. at the intersection of Marble Hill Avenue and West 228 St. in the Bronx.

Officers found 54-year old William Hay unconscious and unresponsive, seated in the driver's seat of a 2015 Volkswagen sedan. He was later pronounced dead at New York Presbyterian Hospital.

Investigators determined that he was traveling west on Marble Hill Avenue when he attempted to drive between two vehicles, a 2012 Chrysler sedan, which was stopped for a red light, and a 2004 Nissan sedan, which was parked at the corner.

The Volkswagen struck both vehicles, which caused them to collide with a 2010 Ford sedan, which was stopped at the light on Marble Hill Avenue, travelling eastbound.

All of the other motorists and passengers suffered minor injuries and were transported to area hospitals for treatment.
