HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (WABC) -- Police on Long Island are investigating the fatal shooting of a driver, who then crashed through a schoolyard fence, injuring three children.

It happened Tuesday in Hempstead.

Three children suffered non-life threatening injuries.
