2 men rescued off Long Beach on Long Island early July 4th

LONG BEACH, N.Y. (WABC) -- Two men had to be rescued off Long Island early Saturday morning.

Long Beach Police were called to the beach in Long Beach after two men went swimming with no lifeguards on duty.

The officers drove onto the sand after the men got stuck against some rocks in a jetty.

The two had some cuts and bruises after being pulled from the water.

They were taken to the hospital to be checked out.
