NEW YORK -- New York's Central Park is hosting a huge Christian religious rally featuring well-known evangelical figures and Yankees great Mariano Rivera.

Organizers say tens of thousands of the faithful are expected at the revival Saturday evening on the park's Great Lawn.

Rivera plans to join entertainers Mandisa, Marcos Witt, Matt Redman and Hezekiah Walker at the rally called NY CityFest.

Leading the gathering will be 80-year-old Luis Palau (loo-ISS' pah-LA'-oh), a prominent evangelical Christian figure. He's a native of Argentina who's been dubbed the "Latino Billy Graham."

The event is to be live-streamed internationally on the Internet.

More than 1,200 Christian churches of various denominations from the New York area are participating in the event.

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio plans to address the gathering.
