ELMSFORD -- A popular animal shelter in Westchester County is closing its doors.
"Pets Alive" announced that it is shutting down its facility in Elmsford, and consolidating with an animal sanctuary in Middletown.
Shelter officials say the move is necessary because of structural problems with the building that are too expensive to repair.
The shelter will stay open for the next several months to find homes for the remaining animals.
