Police looking into whether 6 inmates at Westchester County Jail overdosed on drugs

VALHALLA (WABC) -- Police are investigating after several inmates fell ill at the Westchester County Jail, and are looking into whether they overdosed on drugs.

Six inmates were taken by ambulance Sunday afternoon from the jail in Valhalla to the hospital. Initially, two of the inmates were in critical condition, but now all six are reported to be in stable condition.

Detectives are trying to figure out what caused the inmates to become unresponsive in their cell block.

The jail was on lockdown then the incident occurred.
