FLUSHING (WABC) -- Service has been restored on the 7 train after a fire and heavy smoke condition caused a suspension from Times Square to Flushing Main Street.

The FDNY says they were called to 111 Street just before 11 p.m. for a fire. When they arrived, the fire was out, but there was heavy smoke on the tracks.

Saturday's suspension follows suspensions throughout the day on the 7 train after a crane spilled debris in Flushing.

The two incidents appear to be unrelated.
