BAYSIDE (WABC) -- A 90-year-old woman was behind the wheel of a car that crashed through a storefront in Queens Sunday.

Authorities say she hit the gas pedal instead of the break.

A worker inside the Aeropostale clothing store at the Bay Terrace Shopping Center in Bayside was injured by falling glass, but no one was seriously hurt.

No charges have been filed.

Employees say it is amazing no one was killed when the woman accidentally drove her car into the store.

"It sounded like a bomb, an explosion - she was going very fast," said employees Soraya Moragua and Juan Gonzalez. Moragua then said she did not know what was happening, and she ran out of the store.

Joe Illescas was outside the store as his wife and daughter shopped inside and watched the whole thing unfold.

"I see the lady, you can see she was trying to park, accelerate and...vroom!" Illescas said.

Store employees tell Eyewitness News that three large tables of clothes flew to the back of the store when the woman accelerated from her handicap parking spot.

Employees say the store is usually extremely busy, but luckily on Sunday there were only 14 people inside the store. Luckily, no one happened to be where the woman crashed. The drive is expected to be okay, and even walked a way with a little assistance, but employees say their manager had to go to the hospital.

"She had a panic attack, she didn't know what to do - she went to the hospital, she had glass in her foot," said Mortagua.

The employees' car was still drive-able.

It is unclear how many days the store will be closed.
