Blind man falls off subway platform, struck by G train in Brooklyn

KENSINGTON (WABC) -- A blind man is hospitalized in unknown condition after he stepped off a Brooklyn subway platform and was struck by a train Wednesday afternoon.

The incident happened at Church Avenue and McDonald Avenue in the Kensington section just after 4 p.m.

Authorities say the man stepped off the platform and fell on to the subway tracks, into the path of an incoming northbound G train.

He is said to be alive, and he was taken to Lutheran Hospital.
