Driver in Columbia student hit-and-run surrenders

MORNINGSIDE HEIGHTS (WABC) -- The suspected driver in a Morningside Heights hit-and-run this week has surrendered.

Around 12:30 a.m. Monday, a 22-year-old Columbia University student was struck by a car.

Police said he was hit by a burgundy sedan while crossing Riverside Drive near West 116th Street

Lucy Yang has the latest from Morningside Heights.

The victim was being treated for head and leg trauma at St Luke's Hospital, where he was listed in serious condition.

Charges in the case are pending.
