NEW YORK (WABC) -- Activists fighting for a ban on the horse-drawn carriage industry have turned against their one-time champion Mayor Bill de Blasio.

The Coalition to Ban Horse-Drawn Carriages held a vigil Friday night along Central Park South.

The group says it is very disappointed in Mayor de Blasio because he hasn't kept his promise to shut down the horse-drawn carriage trade.

The mayor says, while he still supports the ban, he can't achieve it without the support of the city council.
