MONTICELLO, N.Y. -- The parents are in custody and being questioned following the cancellation of an Amber Alert for four children who disappeared in Monticello.

The children were found at their grandmother's house in Cochecton in Sullivan County after numerous tips led police there. The four were in good health. The grandmother is not suspected.

The alert was issued for Gabriella Torres, 5; Jacob Esquilin, 4; Jionni Torres, 2; and Assata Mari Franklin, 6 months, around 11 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office.

The Sullivan County Sheriff's Office said it believes the parents, Tina Esquilin and Alfred Franklin Jr., were trying to leave the county with the children. The woman is the mother of all four children. Franklin is father to two of them

Police said they were being held in contempt of family court and the court was about to issue an order taking away the children. Police said the couple took the children in Monticello at about 6 p.m. Wednesday, police said.

The suspects have a violent history, according to the Amber Alert from the sheriff. They were taken to the sheriff's office for questioning.
