Robbery of elderly woman in Bronx elevator caught on camera

MOUNT EDEN, Bronx (WABC) -- Police have arrested a suspect in the robbery of an elderly woman in a Bronx elevator.

Homer Griffin, 50, of the Bronx, was charged with robbery and menacing.

According to the NYPD, on Friday afternoon an 81-year-old woman entered the elevator of a residential building at Grand Concourse and Marcy Place.

She was followed by the suspect, who pretended to help her out of the elevator, then physically threatened her with an unknown object and forcibly removed $200 from her pocketbook before fleeing the scene, police said.

There were no reported injuries.
