At least 1 person dead, another taken to hospital in Freeport, Long Island

FREEPORT, Long Island (WABC) -- One man is dead, another in the hospital after a double shooting on Long Island Tuesday.

The ordeal happened just before noon on Frederick Street in Freeport.

Nassau County police said officers responded to a call of two men with gunshot wounds at the house. When police arrived, they found one man dead and the other was still alive. The man taken to the hospital lived in the house where the shooting happened, police said.

Police said this shooting was not random -- and these men were targeted. They're still looking for the person who shot them.

The Nassau County police homicide unit is investigating.
