SOUTH JAMAICA (WABC) -- Police are investigating after someone left a one-week old baby outside a fire station in Queens.

Firefighters say the baby was left Saturday night at the station on Rockaway Boulevard in South Jamaica.

Under New York safe haven laws, a parent can leave a baby up to 30 days old at a fire station or another safe haven location, without fear of penalty.
