Baby allegedly abducted from Bronx foster care found safe
Joe Torres has the latest details.

MOTT HAVEN, Bronx (WABC) -- A 6-month-old child who police say was abducted from a foster care agency in the Bronx has been found safe.

The child's mother is in custody and charges are pending.

Authorities launched a search after the 33-year-old biological mother had a supervised visit with the baby girl at the facility in the Mott Haven section, then apparently took the child into her arms and walked out the door.

The Administration for Children's Services issued a statement saying it is extremely concerned and is currently investigating the incident, along with the NYPD.

At this point, it is unclear how the mother was able to leave with the girl during the supervised visit.

The firm that runs the agency is New York Foundling, with offices in the five boroughs and cooperated with the investigation.
