BB gun shots fired at police car in the Bronx

MELROSE, Bronx (WABC) -- Police are investigating after shots from a BB gun were apparently fired at a police cruiser in the Bronx Wednesday afternoon.

The cruiser's windshield was damaged in the incident.

Neither police officer in the vehicle, assigned to the 40 Precinct and on sector patrol, was injured.

The sector car was doing a wellness check at 721 Tinton Avenue in the Melrose section at the time of the incident.

No arrests have been made.

There has been a large police presence at the scene as investigators check the damage and talk to witnesses.
