Clifton police searching for person who called 911 as a hoax to report hostage situation

CLIFTON (WABC) -- Police in Clifton, New Jersey are searching for the person who called 911 as a hoax on Saturday night.

Officials say a hostage negotiation team and SWAT officers responded to a group of stores at about 8 p.m. after someone reported a hostage situation.

Officers cleared the buildings and closed nearby roads as a precaution, but say there was no incident.
