CO-OP CITY (WABC) -- A security guard in the Bronx was grazed in the shoulder by a bullet fired from an apartment window late Sunday.

The 38-year-old female officer was shot while responding to reports of a dispute in front of the Donizetti Place building in Co-Op City around 11:30 p.m.

A shot was apparently fired from an upper window in the apartment complex, hitting the woman.

She was taken to Jacobi Medical Center in stable condition.

No arrests were immediately made in the shooting, but the person who prompted the initial police response was taken into custody. Charges are pending.

The officer serves with the Co-op City Department of Public Safety, a private police department with more than 100 public safety officers.
