NEW YORK (WABC) -- Muslim leaders came together Wednesday night to formulate a response after an imam and a friend were shot and killed in Queens.
Imams and community leaders met in Jamaica in advance of a news conference Thursday morning at City Hall.
Although prosecutors say the motive is unclear, many Muslims believe the men were targeted.
Oscar Morel, 35, is being held without bail on a first degree murder charge.
Police say a gun found in his home is a ballistic match to the weapon used to kill Imam Maulama Akonjee and his friend outside a mosque in Ozone Park on Saturday.
