EAST HARLEM, Manhattan (WABC) -- Nine months after a toddler's mysterious death in East Harlem, the Medical Examiner has deemed the case a homicide.

2-year old Rashid Washington's mother called 911 from their East 126th Street apartment last March.

She told police she heard him fall, put him back in bed, and later found him not breathing. He was pronounced dead at Harlem Hospital.

There were no injuries or trauma initially observed.

An autopsy found bruising to the child's liver and spleen, and a large amount of blood in his abdomen.

Police are investigating. So far no one has been arrested.
