Driver charged for striking valet outside King of Prussia restaurant

KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. -- Police say a confrontation at a King of Prussia restaurant ended with a valet being thrown from the windshield of a car and a woman being apprehended for driving erratically.

The woman is identified as Michele Simons of Plymouth Township. She was on charged Thursday with Driving Under the Influence, Aggravated Assault with a Motor Vehicle while DUI, Robbery, Recklessly Endangering another person (REAP), and Fleeing and Eluding.

Bail was set at $100,000 cash.

The incident happened shortly before 4:50 p.m. Wednesday at Seasons 52 on Gulph Road.

Police say Simons pulled up to the valet stand and requested assistance.

When an attendant walked toward the woman, she allegedly grabbed his cell phone.

Authorities say a second attendant walked over to see what happened.

As the woman sped off, police say she struck the second attendant.

The victim hung onto the windshield for a short distance before being thrown from the vehicle. He suffered a head injury and was taken to Paoli Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Multiple police agencies were called in to track down the driver.

Police say Simons was spotted driving erratically on I-76. She was eventually apprehended after crashing into another vehicle in the parking lot of a Burger King on Swede Road in Whitpain Township.
