Eight unstable buildings in Jersey City

JERSEY CITY (WABC) -- Eight buildings were evacuated in Jersey City Tuesday night because one is in danger of collapsing.

Authorities evacuated 141 Newark Avenue after bricks fell from it, and cracks were found in its foundation.

Seven other buildings were also evacuated as a precaution.

Crews were hard at work trying to stabilize the building into the night.

The area is closed to vehicles.
