Elderly woman suffers medical condition, drives into Rahway River

CRANFORD (WABC) -- Two people were hospitalized after a female driver suffered a medical condition and drove into a river in New Jersey Thursday morning.

The incident happened just after 10:30 a.m. on Crescent Place in Cranford.

A Union County spokesperson said the elderly woman had a medical incident while pulling out of driveway and kept going through neighbors backyard and into the Rahway River.

Her husband, who was in the car at the time, is OK but was taken to the hospital for observation.

The woman is in serious condition and was being given CPR on the way to the hospital.
