Family of 5-year-old girl found wandering inside Queens store located

FAR ROCKAWAY, Queens (WABC) -- A 5-year-old girl who says her name is "Essiah" was found wandering alone into a store in Queens on Wednesday afternoon.

Several hours later, police managed to locate her family.

She walked into 1326 Central Avenue in Far Rockaway around 6:30 p.m. She was asking for food.

Police say there will be an investigation into the circumstances of the child being left alone. It seems there was an issue with her day care.

It's not yet known if anyone will face charges.
