Cause of Palisades Park office building fire under investigation

PALISADES PARK, N.J. (WABC) -- Firefighters remained on the scene for hours after flames and smoke poured from a two-story office building in Palisades Park, New Jersey early Wednesday.

The multiple-alarm fire broke out bout 6 a.m. at a two-story building on Bergen Boulevard.

It took more than 100 firefighters over two hours to bring the fire under control at the offices of a law firm and title agency on Bergen Boulevard.

But they remained on the scene more than 10 hours later, still hosing down hot spots as demolition crews took down what remained of the building.

Officials detoured Bergen Boulevard traffic between Palisades and Central Boulevards.

No one was in the building at the time of the first and no injuries were reported, officials said.

Fire Chief Stephen Killion told The Record newspaper that the fire was mostly between the ceiling and the roof.

The cause is not considered suspicious.
