Suspect charged with groping 8-year-old girl on Lower East Side

LOWER EAST SIDE, Manhattan (WABC) -- A suspect has been charged with groping an 8-year-girl last month on the Lower East Side.

Police arrested 30-year-old Daniel Young on charges of sex abuse and acting in a manner injurious to a child.

According to the NYPD, he approached the girl inside of a building courtyard on Essex Street in the vicinity of Broome Street, and tried to talk to her.

Investigators say he then groped her over her clothes before running off.
