Man rescued after falling into ocean from water craft

One man was rescued after falling off a Jet Ski-type vehicle off of Atlantic Beach.

The rider fell off on the Atlantic Ocean side of the Sun & Surf Beach Club just before 3 p.m. Monday after he was caught in rough water.

He and a second man, who was found stranded on the jet ski, were taken to St. John's Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockaway, Queens, where they were expected to be treated for exposure to cold water and released.

Atlantic Beach Fire Rescue and a surfboarder aided in the rescue.
