HARLEM, New York (WABC) -- Police rescued a man from a Harlem bridge Wednesday.
Around 9:30 a.m., police responded to reports of a man about to jump from the Macombs Dam Bridge.
According to the New York City Police Department, the police Emergency Service Unit was on the scene within minutes and deployed an airbag below the man.
The man began to climb the bridge and stood at the edge of the north side.
After two hours, officers managed to lower him safely onto the airbag below.
The man was stable and was taken to Harlem Hospital for evaluation.
