Man shot, killed inside Brooklyn deli in East Flatbush

BROOKLYN, N.Y. (WABC) -- A 32-year-old man was fatally shot inside a deli in Brooklyn Tuesday night.

It happened at the Deli Grocery and Grill on Remsen Avenue in East Flatbush just before 9:30 p.m.

The victim was a customer who was drinking a fountain soda at the counter when two men entered the deli through the front door.

One displayed a black revolver and said "give me the (expletive) money" to the clerk. The other man stood by the door.

The victim started to back away from the counter, and one of the men pointed the gun at the victim and fired, hitting the man in the torso. He was taken to Brookdale Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

One of the men stole an unknown amount of money from the register and fled the store, according to police.

The man shot and killed is from Brooklyn.
